Dr. Marisa Shulman is a Tennessee girl, born and raised. Although she has lived in several parts of middle TN, she claims the little town of Bell Buckle as her hometown. Having grown up around animals her whole life, she knew that veterinary medicine was where she needed to be. After attending Sewannee (the University of the South) for college, she moved to Chattanooga and joined our team as a veterinary assistant. She then moved to Knoxville for four years of veterinary school at theUTK, followed by a yearlong internship at Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr Shulman moved back to Chattanooga and rejoined the Riverview team in 2010, where she has a special interest in surgery. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association, and the Hamilton County Veterinary Medical Association. She has been an active member of the HCVMA, serving as the VP, President and now the Treasurer. She and her husband, Phil, currently live with their 3 wonderful dogs, Smidge, Pixie, and Jack, along with their cat, Simba. Her back yard is sadly too small for her horse, Rook, who currently resides in Ooltewah. In her spare time, she has a passion for horses, rock climbing, and running, although any excuse to be outside is a good one.
