Dr. Shulman is a Tennessee girl, born and raised. Although she has lived in several parts of middle TN, she claims the little town of Bell Buckle as her home. Having grown up around animals her whole life, she knew that veterinary medicine was where she needed to be. After attending Sewanee (The University of the South) for college, she moved to Chattanooga (for the first time), where she worked as a veterinary assistant for Dr. Tai at the old Riverview Animal Hospital clinic. She then moved to Knoxville for four years of veterinary school at UTK, followed by a yearlong internship at Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Shulman moved back to Chattanooga and was lucky enough to join the Riverview team in 2010, where she has a special interest in surgery. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association, and the Hamilton County Veterinary Medical Association. She served as the vice president of the HCVMA for a year. She currently lives with her two wonderful dogs, Smidge and Pixie. Her back yard is sadly too small for her horse, Oliver, who currently resides in Ooltewah. In her spare time, she has a passion for horses, rock climbing, and running, although any excuse to be outside is a good one.
